2. Sharon Starr presented the Fairfield Green Club’s Ten Simple Steps.
Discussion
1. Should our goal be carbon neutrality or something greater?
2. How do we define carbon neutrality?
- How do we quantify and measure carbon neutrality?
- What percent of carbon neutrality will be achieved by reducing amount of carbon we produce?
- Do we certify annually?
3. Proposed goals of Carbon Neutrality Initiative
- Define and quantify carbon neutrality.
- Liason with Fairfield and other local governments.
- Build a credible carbon neutrality model to take to others.
- Educate the citizenry of Fairfield on what carbon neutrality means, so that everyone understands the challenges before us, and can make informed decisions that help reach the goal.
Action Steps
1. Kim will research carbon neutral quantification and certification.
2. Sharon will contact Stewart Valentine and Mary Carter for tables for the Fairfield Green Club at the September Art Walk.
