ResourcesThis food resource page is currently being constructed by Kyle Sieck and Taben Winter. Our goal is to provide helpful resources that educate citizens on all aspects of food production, food security, organic farming, GMOs, and various other subjects that will get you thinking about how food travels from its source to your plate. The Community Futures Conference, which will be held Saturday, July 28th, will host various discussion sessions ranging from new ways to produce energy, to smarter ways of managing waste, and from news modes of transportation, to making goals possible through government and public policy. There will also be a discussion coined under the term "food security" in which all interested persons will be invited to share ideas and suggestions that focus on all things food. Some areas of discussion may include: artisan foods, traditional vs. organic farming, family farms, GMOs, local food, the economy of food, the slow food movement, herbavoric vs. omnivoric diets, and greenhouse food production.
