Jefferson County Trail System
In addition to the Fairfield Loop trail, a 33-mile recreational trail circling the city, the Trail Council is rolling out a city-wide system of bikeway-walkway signage in the winter of 2007-08. Monthly meetings are open to the public.
Ride Share Boards
Everybody's Whole Foods Store has the only bulletin board in town dedicated to ride sharing, at 501 N 2nd St. http://FairfieldToday.com also has an online ride-sharing board, but as of this writing it is not operational.
$2 Taxi Service
Considering giving up your car? You can get a ride around town for just $2. Call 800-227-6390. The van has only two passenger seats but is designed to accommodate a wheelchair or bicycle.
